Remember the post about Amsterdam building their own fiber to the home network. Well, the city elders have approved the network unanimously. The network’s first phase - 40,000 homes & businesses - could get underway as early as late spring. According to sources, the two left wing parties would have preferred a 100% municipal owned network. So they said to vote in favor, but only under protest. We need similar enlightened thinking state side as well. James “Euro telecom” Enck writes, “Call me alarmist, but I think this opens up a dramatic new chapter for EuroTelcoland, and is a perfect start for 2006 for those who wish to see more robust connectivity for all!” Amen to that, broadband brother!
